Saving the lost languages
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Language is how we express the world around us, our feelings and more. As an English speaker I am secretly glad that English is becoming the language of choice, but I would never want my language responsible for the destruction of lesser known languages. The EU requires some local languages to be taught and in America some schools do teach Native American languages or in Hawaii they teach the Hawaiin language. We need to do something to save the languages that are dying. If Latin can make a resurgence then why can't Basque or Cherokee. I think that country governments should help tribes with no written language create a written language too cause once a language is a written language it's chances of dying out completely are very slim. So yeah in order to preserve unique cultures in our ever changing world it is important to preserve the languages they speak.
